Sports Combat Coach for the MAI Sweden Squad

MAI had a interclub competition on Saturday20th April 2002 in Göteborg.
A total of 10 fighters, 5 from Gotheborg, 4 from Eskilstuna and
1 from Västerås competed. The competition is for level
2/3 students, fight rules were the usual full contact with protective
gear.
Head
Instructors Magnus Karrsson and Stefan Oliv was thrilled by the
quality of the skills of the novice fighters - "the competitors
fought at a high level with excellent repertoires."
Stefan
Pettersson from Västerås came first, second John Holmström
Gothenborg and third Lars-Erik Strid from Gothenborg . In heavyweight
Johan Celling won.
Next
week there on the 29th April 2002, there will be an external competition
in Västeås, whereby all other martial arts organisations
will compete. Göteborg MAI will submit three fighters, Johan
Bergman –85 kg, Erik Karlson, -75 kg (both took level three
in this autumn) and Hans in the –80 kg level. There maybe also
Eskilstuna MAI is sending one or two fighters.
