2 Silver and 1 Gold Medal for

MAI Wing Chun Fighters

One of the two Sweden National Championships for this year took place in Västerås on the 27th off April 2002. There were 5 fighters from the M.A.I Wing Chun that attended.

In the novice class, Johan Bergman from Stenungsund and Erik Karlsson from Gothenburg fought their first external competition. Erik won his first fight but lost hes second fight. Johan won his first fight and got to the final, he did very well but lost.

In the skilled class, Anders Asp and Claes Oliveskog both from Eskilstuna, and Hans Johanesson from Gothenburg competed. Hans lost his first fight, and did not performed anywhere near his personal best. Claes fought a close fight in the final but did not make the first place. Anders won all of his fights and got the goldmedal.

In summary, the M.A.I Wing Chun fighters did very well and left the Championship with two silver and one goldmedal. Congratulations to the fighters especially to the Gold medalist Anders Asp of Eskilstuna Martial Art Institute.
