Distinctions for Level 1 Grading

On
the 26th May 2002, approximately 40 students in London entered their
first grading after 6 months of intensive MAI Wing Chun training.
The
examination was a very formal affair, each student was allocated
a time slot to attend at the Wimbledon Club. Master Tang (chief
instructor) presided as examiner, usually senior or head instructors
assess level 1 and 2. In this case, markings were tougher with a
pass or fail grade.
However,
the students were examined under very strict conditions, markings
were as follows:
A+

A- very good
B+ good
B good
B- good
C+
average
C average
C- below
Average
D
bad
E
extremely
bad
All
students had to perform the 12 exercises of the level 1 syllabus,
demonstrating technical ability and understanding of each techniques
and it's terminology. In addition, students had to exhibit the martial
etiquette which includes respect, confidence, full uniform and physical
and mental control.
Four
students, Jack French (age 12), Claire Cork, Jehad Shamis and
Anthony Denny attained 'Distinction' accumulated a minimum of
10 A's or A-'s each - Congratulations to these Addington Village
club students for winning the highest standard. Hope you guys will
continue to set the high standard for everyone to aspire to.
