Royal Variety Performance 2001 is UK's top charity event held once a year in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Selected stars around the world converge at the London Dominion Theatre to perform live to a two thousand live audience. This prestigious event was broadcast by ITV1.

Master Wai-Po Tang was selected to perform along with superstars such as Jeniffer Lopez, Elton John, The Coors, Samantha Mumba, Hearsay and lots of other talented entertainers from many industries.

Prior to the event, the organiser asked Wai-Po and Silvio Simac to choreograph the martial art stage actions.

Master Tang selected two of his students to represent the martial Art Institute, Mikael Davidsson from Sweden and Django Lagnado from UK.

Altogether there were 10 martial artists casted, and Master Tang named the group, 'The Rising Dragon'.

The Rising Dragon performed the opening scene, and it was extremely well received. Immediately after the performance, offers came pouring in, requesting more demonstration for other events.

Master Tang was one of the two representatives of the Rising Dragon whom sang along with the celebrated singers at the grand finale. Later on, he was engaged in the Queen's presentation backstage. An unbelievable night out !!!
