REAL SELF-DEFENCE OR REAL
HYPE
There
are so much realistic self-defence promotion in the media past and
present. Each new author will have the ultimate answer for much
talked about 'reality'?
The
problem in most discussions is that the word reality are often misused.
One person reality is not necessary another reality. For example,
some ex-bouncers or street fighters say that it is best to punch
or some best to kick or some best to grapple or use weapons.. etc.
Reality
is situation and perception specific. One type of technique might
work for someone accustomed to violence but not necessary for the
general public. There are lots of factors that make a technique
work, therefore you can only assume that the most common factors
are most probable in combat.
There
appears most common factors to applying self-defence techniques
effectively must include tactical factors of surprise, aggression,
conviction to execute brutal force or restraining force or lethal
force.
It
is not hard to work out effective resolution to street self-defence
confrontation. But most people become vulnerable when they are uncertain
when to act and whether it is right to act. The reality for responding
to such uncertainty vary from person to person, and therefore, physical
techniques will vary according to our reaction and response time.
